Snook Fishing in Cozumel

Always a challenge and a reward

Snook are famously known as the 'Ambush" fish. Meaning that they like to hide under the mangroves or under any convenient obstruction and with a sudden burst of speed they will dart out and 'ambush' their next meal. Casting for Snook means placing your fly as close to the mangrove or whichever obstruction they are hiding under. This casting challenge sometimes results in a snag or what Captain Mike calls catching the Monkey Fish..  Don't feel bad if this happens to you.. It is all part of the challenge and the more you do it the better the reward!
